Greetings,
For over 75 years, the Eastern Area of The Links, Incorporated has led the way in friendship and service with distinction. It is with pride that we carry on the distinguished legacy of our co-founders through these two core tenants. As the first Area within The Links, Incorporated, the Eastern Area’s focus on transformational service to communities and nurturing powerful and authentic friendship is executed with intentionality and purpose by 82 chapters and nearly 5,000 dynamic women throughout Connecticut, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, and the United Kingdom.
Under the leadership of our National President, Ethel Isaacs Williams, Esq., our focus on service is even more “mission critical” and “mission possible” on global issues influencing our communities here and abroad inclusive of education, voter’s rights, health equity, leadership social justice, financial literacy, and community wealth. The Eastern Area is steadfast in its commitment to and support of the National agenda which addresses some of the most critical needs facing our communities as a whole and our Black communities specifically.
Studies show that “sustainable societies depend upon strong families.” With this in mind, the Eastern Area’s new focus is, “Elevating Friendship, Empowering Families,” I am humbled and privileged to lead this Area in harnessing the power of true and authentic friendship to fortify families throughout our communities. In doing so, we will leverage The Links’ rich legacy of service by galvanizing the members of our Area to be the face of committed and leading change.
In everything we do, our goal is to improve the lives in our communities. We are stronger together. By elevating our friendship, our mission to empower families and impact communities will be fully realized. Continue to visit our website often, where you will learn more about our transformative Eastern Area programs and initiatives that are always “Linked in Friendship, Connected in Service.”

THE EASTERN AREA OF THE LINKS, INCORPORATED SUPPORTS THE
2024 BLACK FAMILY WELLNESS EXPO
The Links, Incorporated is excited to launch nationwide our second annual Black Family Wellness Expo, to share information to help everyone — from infants to seniors — live healthier, happier lives. The Eastern Area is proud to support this initiative with its members across the East.
This year’s multi-city events are built upon The Links, Incorporated’s successful inaugural launch last year. While the organization has worked to battle health disparities in the communities where members have served for decades, March 2023 was the first time that chapters and Links members worked on the same day coast to coast to address many health disparities and general wellness in a singular, one-day event within their communities and for a nationwide audience.
In addition to educating communities of African descent about the numerous health disparities impacting them, this year, The Links, Incorporated has expanded its efforts to include information related to financial wellness and voter registration and education to ensure communities are equipped and empowered to make informed decisions impacting them at the national, state and local levels.
